Purple stream pharmaceutical waste containers are used for unused and out of date drugs, and any waste contaminated by hazardous cytotoxic and cytostatic medicines (e.g. chemotherapy drugs, birth control, chloramphenicol).
Purple lidded sharps units are for the disposal of sharps still containing medicines or sharp cytotoxic waste.
Purple lidded rigid units are for the disposal of non-sharps medicines or non sharp cytotoxic waste. Waste is then exported for incineration at an authorised facility.
Denaturing kits are used for the safe disposal of old medicines, including controlled drugs, that are in tablet, powder, liquid or ampoule form. Once used, the kits can be disposed of in the purple lidded containers.
