Any waste that is potentially harmful to the environment or to human health is classified as ‘hazardous’ under environmental legislation.
Hazardous waste is a term that covers many different waste types, all with their own management, segregation, transport, treatment and disposal requirements.
Each of these waste types has its own segregation and / or disposal requirements – please refer to the relevant Stericycle Solution web page for more information.
Each Stericycle vehicle meets the requirements of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Regulations and all drivers hold current, valid HazChem licenses.
Our specialists undertake formal audits against current legislative requirements to ensure that services provided are of the requisite quality. The team actively monitors developments in legislation and ensure that any changes which impact upon operations are fully implemented when necessary.
Stericycle’s processes and procedures are regularly audited by external agencies and are formally accredited to the following standards:
All waste will be tracked using SteriTrack. It captures and monitors all waste produced from a specific location to point of disposal, ensuring accurate reporting, invoicing, and continuous compliance with all regulations.
Every collection is given a unique job number/box number. On receipt a barcode of that number is applied to each container for onward shipment or incineration, this approach ensuring complete traceability and facilitating the production of a Certificate of Destruction.
Each of our customers is assigned a dedicated Account Manager. Our welcome pack will outline contact details for collection requests and also consolidate all information produced during Mobilisation (contact details, account numbers, portal user guides, dates for Duty of Care audits and Performance Review Meetings, etc).
Organisations generate various types of hazardous waste that require compliant handling and disposal. We ensure that your waste is removed, transported and disposed of compliantly and efficiently.
