Not just one waste type

Hazardous waste is a term that covers many different waste types, all with their own management, segregation, transport, treatment and disposal requirements.

Hazardous waste types include:

  • Pharmaceutical - We collect and dispose of all hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste, including expired, unused, contaminated, damaged, denatured or no long needed.
  • Chemical - Chemical waste can be toxic, flammable, corrosive, reactive or a combination of these, so it is important to dispose of it properly.
  • Radioactive We have experience in managing LLW for both public and private sector organisations.
  • WEEE - We can help you manage your waste electric and electronic equipment in a safe, compliant and environmentally friendly way.

Each of these waste types has its own segregation and / or disposal requirements – please refer to the relevant Stericycle Solution web page for more information.

Stericycle’s processes and procedures are regularly audited by external agencies and are formally accredited to the following standards:

  • ISO 14001:2015
  • OHSAS 18001:2007

Fully Traceable Waste

All waste will be tracked using SteriTrack. It captures and monitors all waste produced from a specific location to point of disposal, ensuring accurate reporting, invoicing, and continuous compliance with all regulations.

Every collection is given a unique job number/box number. On receipt a barcode of that number is applied to each container for onward shipment or incineration, this approach ensuring complete traceability and facilitating the production of a Certificate of Destruction.

Each of our customers is assigned a dedicated Account Manager. Our welcome pack will outline contact details for collection requests and also consolidate all information produced during Mobilisation (contact details, account numbers, portal user guides, dates for Duty of Care audits and Performance Review Meetings, etc).
